Rio Grande City Main Street Attends Summer Conference in Amarillo The Rio Grande City Commission approved an ordinance Wednesday, July 18, making Rio Grande City the 101st city in Texas to pass a Comprehensive Smoke-Free Ordinance. Rio Grande City Commission Passes Smoke-Free Ordinance Co-op members, community members, local officials and Medina EC Board of Directors and employees attended the event. Medina EC held the grand opening of its new Rio Grande City office on Monday, November 19, at 601 North FM 3167. Rio Grande City Main Street is one of 68 to be recommended this year. The Texas Main Street Program (TMSP) of the Texas Historical Commission (THC) has recognized Rio Grande City Main Streetfor successful annual progress in carrying out national performance standards for a Main Street community.
